How can we help?
AI Cleaner finds what is quietly filling up your iPhone — duplicate photos, large videos, old screenshots, Live Photos and duplicate contacts — and helps you clear it safely. All analysis runs on your device; your photos are never uploaded.
If something is not working, or you have a question that is not answered below, email us. A real person reads every message.
Frequently asked
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Scanning, duplicate detection and grouping all happen locally on your iPhone. AI Cleaner does not upload your photos, videos or contacts to any server, and we never see them.
See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
What can the app clean?
- Duplicate and similar photos
- Large videos
- Screenshots
- Live Photos
- Duplicate and incomplete contacts
- Weekly / monthly photo collections
From the Clean tab you can open each category, or go to Collections to review your library one week or month at a time. The Swipe tab lets you go through a collection photo by photo: swipe to Keep or Delete.
Will the app delete anything without asking me?
No. Nothing is deleted until you confirm it on the confirmation screen, which shows how many items will be removed, their estimated size and thumbnails of what is included.
In Swipe, tapping Delete only puts a photo into a pending basket. You can move items back out of the basket at any time, and nothing is removed until you submit it and confirm. In Duplicate Photos the best shot of each group is kept by default.
I deleted something by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, for photos and videos, within 30 days. AI Cleaner deletes through iOS, so deleted items go to the Recently Deleted album first. Open the Photos app → Albums → Recently Deleted, select the items and tap Recover.
Contacts that are merged or deleted cannot be restored from inside the app. If you use iCloud Contacts, you can restore an earlier version at iCloud.com → Account Settings → Restore Contacts.
I cleaned several GB, but my free space barely changed. Why?
This is the most common question, and there are a few normal reasons:
- Recently Deleted. Deleted photos keep using space until they are removed from the Recently Deleted album (or 30 days pass). Empty that album in the Photos app to free the space immediately.
- iCloud Photos with “Optimise iPhone Storage”. The full originals live in iCloud, so the phone only held small versions. Deleting them frees less local space than the listed size, but does free iCloud space.
- iOS updates its figure slowly. The system can take a few minutes to recalculate available storage. Use Refresh on the result screen, or check again in Settings → General → iPhone Storage later.
The result screen shows the size of content removed and the system's free space separately, and tells you honestly when they do not match — we never invent a “space freed” number.
Why does the app need full access to my photos?
To find duplicates and large files the app has to look at the whole library. With Limited Access it can only see the photos you selected, so results will be incomplete. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → AI Cleaner.
Contacts access is only requested when you open the Contacts cleaner, and is only used to find duplicate and incomplete contacts.
How are duplicates and the “best” photo chosen?
Photos are compared on the device and grouped when they are identical or nearly identical. In each group the app suggests one photo to keep, preferring the highest resolution, then the larger file, then favourites, then the most recent shot. You can change the selection before deleting anything.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → AI Cleaner, and choose Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
For refunds, please request them from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
I paid, but the app still shows as free. How do I restore?
Open the Settings tab in AI Cleaner and tap Restore Purchases, making sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. If that does not help, email us with the date of purchase (not your payment details) and we will look into it.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone running iOS 15.6 or later. The first scan of a large library may take a few minutes; later scans are faster.
Report a bug or request a feature
Email cleaner@aitoolab.mom. It helps a lot if you include:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version
- The AI Cleaner version (Settings tab inside the app)
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- A screenshot of the app screen, if the problem is something you can see
Please do not send us your personal photos. We never need them to diagnose a problem.
